Dudley the Sprocker

Dudley is my first born child. He’s only 4 years old. Very playful and full of energy. He’s very much a part of our nutty family.
I walked him at the park like any other day and threw the ball and this particular day he just couldn’t get back up and his leg looked completely out of place. A lovely couple helped me carry him to the vets (all 17kg of him).
The vets X rayed and he has fractured his elbow in an awkward place. We were referred to a specialist who would operate but when we arrived I was told the small print of the insurance would only cover £500 and this operation would cost £4000 plus follow up fees and x rays.
We have tried charities but we do not receive benefits so they can’t help and we have no savings at all.
We have now been referred to another surgeon who is not a specialist but willing to give it a go due to his age but it may not be successful and if it isn’t his leg will be amputated anyway. She has never done this operation before but is still going to cost more than we currently earn.
dudley deserves a chance, he’s the friendliest dog ever and loves every human.
The children love him to bits.
hes not just a dog he is my shadow, I can never wee in peace. He is my walking hoover.
When I heard the words ‘put to sleep’ I burst into tears. He’s still got lots of life left in him even with only 3 legs.
anything that you can donate would be amazing and we will Be forever grateful x
