The Dublin Model Car Club is the only 1/10th scale off road model racing club in Ireland. We are also the only Indoor Model racing club in Ireland.
The club has been in existence since the early 80s.
Our indoor track is normally funded by members and people who come to race at our track. However, as Covid-19 has stopped us racing, we have no income until we can get back to racing (who knows when that will be!)....... but we still have rent to pay to keep our track.
We have asked our 2020 members for financial help, however there are also plenty of people out there who have raced with us in the past who may be taking a hiatus, people who visit us from time to time, people who may want to come reace in the future.
We have tried to get some help through some government support schemes and grants, but the fact that Model Car Racing is not recognised as a sport, this has been a brick wall.
If we cant continue to pay the rent (over €700 pm), the club will cease to exist. So we are asking anyone who would like to see the Dublin Model Car Club continue into the future to help.
