Duane Joseph Rogers Jr
Was born April 2, 1973 He departed this earth August 8, 2020. After a very very hard fight against cancer, he went into the hospital we were thinking to probably get some fluids for a couple days and then he would probably be better. Unfortunately that isn’t what happened, within days he lost the ability to use one side of his body as if he had a stroke. As his health Diminished more test were ran, that’s when we found out he had Guillain-Barre syndrome, within one day of the diagnosis his heart stopped and he ended up on life support and lost the ability to use the rest of his body from the neck down, had no feeling. My sister stood steadfast by his side the entire time. He fought hard for the last 3 weeks, this morning at 5:06am he finally drew his last breath finally ending the miserable pain he has been in for so long. Much longer then anyone should ever have to suffer. My sister is now faced with not only losing the love of her life, but figuring out how to carry through his final wishes. We all know funerals are not cheap. Any help that anyone of their friends or family can give to help this part of the process a little easier for my sister would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Please let’s come together and show her what friends and family can do when a loved one is at the very lowest point in their life. Joe was an amazing man who had amazing dreams, it saddens my heart to see him go. We want to take comfort in one another after the passing of Joe. But it’s important for us to remember that though we grieve, we also should celebrate his life. I’m having a hard time imagining mine without him in it. He was a brother-in-law in name, but really a brother to me. I’ve been lucky to know him since For the past 22 years.
