Duane (Danno) Kebschull Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Many of you know our friend Duane (Danno) of DMi Sound, who provides audio production at our events. Duane had an accident while working, which shattered the bones beneath his knee.   It's technically called a Tibial Plateau Fracture with with fragmentation, displacement, and extensive soft tissue damage.  This is a severe, life-changing injury. Danno has remained hospitalized since the accident occurred on June 24th.  He immediately underwent emergency surgery to stabilize the injury, and will remain in an inpatient facility, with a metal cage on his leg, until he can undergo a second surgery to address the damage.  He's facing an additional surgery in the future.  His knee will be permanently compromised.

As you can imagine, for a guy who works is butt off hauling around and setting up equipment all over Western Wisconsin, this is major setback.  His leg is not going to be weight bearing for at least three months after the second surgery, and as yet that surgery is not scheduled, as the soft tissue damage to Duane's knee must subside first.  The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help offset Duane's medical expenses (co-pays, deductibles, mobility aids) and his loss of income during this time.  Duane does not have short- or long-term disability insurance coverage.

The Chippewa Valley Blues Society knows that Tuesday Night Blues would not be here 11 years later without Danno.  As the director of DMi Sound, Danno sets up and tears down the  audio and lighting equipment for 14 Tuesdays every summer, and he's done that since before this event was even known as Tuesday Night Blues.  As part of his volunteer role with CVBS as our "Member at Large," he lays out all the Bluesletters and makes sure they get printed every week.  He manages our sponsors’ advertisements in the Bluesletter, on our website, and on our email templates.  He maintains our websites and domains.  He's done most of the graphic design for the group over the years, and orders banners, posters, etc as needed.   He's also an integral part of the Blues on the Chippewa team and bringing that free festival to the community.    He maintains our iPad and cash register applications.  And he's always available to answer the rest of the volunteers’ questions, even if we've asked him five times already.  :-)

As far as the local music community goes, we all know that Duane is the go-to guy when someone needs help.  He's the person local and traveling musicians and techs call in an emergency.   He's always available to give advice, lend a hand, or to lend equipment.

Chippewa Valley Blues Society and Tuesday Night Blues are so fortunate to have Duane on our team and we couldn't bring you free live music without him.  We are wishing him a speedy recovery.

We are also grateful to have you as supporters, and we are hoping that we can count on you to lend a hand to our friend in need.

Again, all proceeds go directly to Danno for medical expenses and to offset lost income.    We sincerely appreciate anything you can give.  Every little bit helps when you pull together as a community!

- Much love,
Cheryl, 2019 CVBS President
