Dua and Dalal Education Fund

Donation protected
Sisters Dua (23) and Dalal al-Showaiki (21) are the most recent in a saga of women to have fled Saudi Arabia as a result of forced marriage, sexual abuse and strict guardianship laws. Whilst living in Saudi Arabia, Dua and Dalal were beaten “frequently,” sexually abused by male relatives, and, should they have remained in the country, forced to marry older, religious men – especially troubling for Dua who identifies as gay.
They fled Saudi Arabia and whilst in Turkey in 2019 were recognised by the UN as an urgent case requiring protection and relocation.  They are now safe and have started university education; the one thing they dreamed of doing when they took the life changing decision to flee.
Now they need help.  They are safe, but the costs of education and basic living during a pandemic where they are unable to work has become very difficult. Please donate whatever you can.  Every penny or cent donated will go to their education fund. Nothing is kept for administration. I continue to represent them pro bono and just want to help them move on with their lives.
