Debra Shelton’s Medical & Funeral

Our mom was diagnosed with a frontal lobe primary glioblastoma in her brain on 11/6/17. MRI showed that the tumor spread across the midline of her brain making a total surgical resection impossible. We were also informed that it is believed that even with chemotherapy/radiation, the outlook is 3-6 months. She has never had a medical issue other than some bowel troubles. She has been a healthy woman and this has completely shocked every single person she knows to the core, especially her kids, husband, and entire family. A woman with almost no medical history finds out one day that she has a brain tumor and 4 days later finds out that she has 3-6 months left.
At this point, we are still reviewing treatment options and procedures. We have decided to continue with a neurosurgery to do a biopsy of the tumor and possible partial resection of the left side since it is the larger side, which is not a guarantee until they get into her brain. This will take place on 11/13/17. This surgery will give a definitive answer as to what we are looking at for the future and if it is better or worse than we thought.
Due to the sudden and extreme nature of the circumstances, any and all monetary assistance to help facilitate testing, treatment, and potential comfort measures should they be taken would be greatly appreciated.
We thank anyone and everyone who can help.
Thank you and God bless.
