Drowning in cancer debt

My name is Venomous Valdez (radio name) from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been part of the Cincinnati Music community since 1999, showcasing originals on WAIF, WEBN, WNKU, and most recently, The Project. I've also been an Event Producer orchestrating events like MidPoint Music Festival, Western & Southern Open, and so many more. I also Tour Managed and worked production at Bogart's and Riverbend for years. I am currently employed at the Cincinnati Museum Center as their Event Manager. I love my job! I love being part of our city's history in such a warm, caring environment. They have been so wonderful through my current battle.

Some of you know that I've had tough 3 years. Starting in 2019, I had to learn to walk again after an accident. I finally was cleared to return to work one month before the covid lockdown, which turned into a year and of half of no work. During that period, I lost my place to live after 15 years. Now, at 46, I have been diagnosed with tonsil cancer. I am currently undergoing a 7-week course plan that includes 35 radiation treatments on my throat with 3 rounds of chemo. All cancer sucks, but this is a ruthless treatment plan. I haven't eaten solid food in over a month. I stay dehydrated and struggle to consume calories as my mouth and throat are burned, along with other complications. The good thing is we caught it earlier enough that I have a high survival rate.

I have health insurance through the non-profit where I work. That said, I still have substantial debt piling up. As I write this, my bills are totaling near 12k and climbing as I still have a few weeks of treatment left. At the end of this cycle, the doctors hope I will be deemed 'cured' and won't need surgery. I will get a pet scan to confirm that the cancer has been obliterated in 3 months. I could use a break. I appreciate any amount you could pitch in.
