Support My Artist Residency!

Hi Friends!

My name is Nancey B. Price and I am a collage artist, storyteller and writer based in rural Georgia. This year, I've been granted the opportunity to participate in my very first in-person artist residency in the beautiful city of Savannah, GA!

The On::View Artist Residency program, hosted by Sulfur Studios, provides free, high-visibility studio space for an artist to complete a new project, continue an in-progress endeavor, or conduct research exploring conceptual, material, performative, and social practices.

My proposed project, Water Signs, is a multi-piece series that seeks to explore the complicated relationship between Black people in the African diaspora and the water that contributed to the story of who we are. I have already completed two collages in this series (one pictured below), and my goal is to complete more pieces while engaging my work with the community during my residency.

The purpose of this campaign is twofold: residency support & monthly bills. My residency occurs during April and May 2023 and during this time, I will have to fund my travel, lodging, meals, and materials while also maintaining my monthly bills. Every dollar donated, big or small, will have a significant impact on supporting my project while also granting me the ability to focus solely and freely on my creativity.
