DREAM BIG QUINCY

Donation protected
Hi my name is Dominique and I am the proud mother of Quincy Johnson. Quincy is a grade eight student from St Paul's elementary school in Alliston. Quincy's has been part of the schools Glee club program offered by amazing dedicated teachers. He has been blessed with the opportunity of following his dreams by receiving a small scholarship to AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Los Angeles. In order for Quincy to attend we will need to raise additional funds to cover all costs. We would be so great full for any donations to help honour his dream and give him this once in a life time opportunity. Thank you all for supporting my truly amazing son. https://www.amda.edu/high-school-summer-program

The scholarship was awarded to him at Show Choir Canada April 6, 2018, where he and the members of the Glee Club from St. Paul's Catholic Elementary School in Alliston did an outstanding performance.  We are super proud of their commitment and dedication and for really stepping up.  We are asking for your love and support in funding Quincy to be able to attend the Summer Program in July 2018.  The total cost with Housing and Meal Plan is $4,800 US. Plus airfare.  Quincy graduates grade 8 in June and his birthday is also this summer.  We are asking family and friends to consider a contribution to this opportunity in lieu of gifts.

We really didn't realize how deep his dreams were until we saw him perform for the first time with the Glee Team at last years Show Choir Canada.  I remember a few years ago when he didn't want to try out for the Glee Team because he would be the only boy, and then the following year he came home and said "mommy should I?  Do you think it would be okay?" And we pumped him up and said YES QUINCY.  Go after it and from then we have been encouraging him to DREAM BIG.

He has been working incredibly hard outside of his commitment to the Glee Club as he has expressed his dreams, desires and goals of pursuing a career in the Performing Arts Industry.  He's always been a kind and loving kid who has continuously been encouraged to take his passion further.  When he was on stage this year, and we heard them call his name that he had won the Scholarship we all shot to our feet.  At the time, we were under the impression that it was fully covered and when we learned that it was not, we were all heart broken, especially Q.  The thought of constantly having him press forward, strive higher and come this far and then have to tell him "Sorry babe, this is as far as you can get right now because of finances ..." I just hoped I didn't have to do.  Quincy and I are so full of joy and love and are hoping that you might take the time to look through these videos and pictures of Q expressing himself through music.  He wrote a song at the end of February/March called "A Song For Joy" and I'm sharing it with all of you for the first time... it's a little raw, but when you listen to it, you can see that Quincy is calling this experience into his life and I pray that it is only the beginning. With your help I hope he gets to take it a step further and continues to DREAM BIG.

The truth is, as Quincy's mom I struggle to ask for help on a regular basis but as a family we are learning that it is okay sometimes.  The thought of him having to miss out on the opportunity of a life-time breaks my heart, so we just had to try and put it out there.  We are all going to be working extra hard to make this happen. Quincy is using all of his savings and as his parents we will be working overtime.

I pray you can relate to wanting the best for your kids, and the willingness to put it all out there.  We are honored to be part of our community and are committed to represent it to the best of our ability.  We thank you in advance. xoxo Dominique, Quincy and Family.
