The Teddy Bear Fund

The Teddy Bear fund has been established in memory and to honor our sweet Golden Retriever, Teddy Bear, after he so bravely fought a battle with an aggressive form of nasal cancer. He leaves behind me, Judith, his heartbroken Momma, his Daddy, and younger human brother and sister. Teddy is missed beyond words and his presence is ached for, so beginning this fund is a perfect way to keep his legacy alive and to give back to others. When Teddy Bear joined our family in December of 2013, he was a 3.9 pound fluff ball that looked just like a living and breathing teddy bear (hence how he earned his name!) He had a very traumatic start to life and ended up at a local Wildlife Center. This is where our story began! I remember that day like yesterday! As we left the Center, I was given a canvas tote that contained his belongings. It consisted of a ziploc bag with a few days worth of dry food and a tan cuddly teddy bear! Teddy lived a beautiful life full of adventure, love and many, many toys! One of his great talents was seeing how fast he could rip a new "baby" to shreds! However, eight years later, his teddy is still in tack after a few minor surgeries! Since losing Teddy, it has become one of my most prized possessions and I hold it every night as I fall asleep.

The Teddy Bear Fund will ensure that every dog or cat adopted from the Danville Area Humane Society will be gifted their very own teddy bear to carry with them to love and cherish as they begin their new life with their forever family!

I believe this is the perfect way to honor our Teddy Angel and to pass his unwavering love onto some of God's other special creations! From the bottom of our hearts, any contribution, big or small, will be greatly appreciated forever and always! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
