Dr Maria Salamah: Bereavement of a young doctor

Maria came to Ireland with an ambition to pursue her career in Psychiatry. She lived and worked in Galway.

On Monday 12/7/2021 she was uncontactable by colleagues and hospital staff who then contacted Gardai. Sadly Gardai found Maria dead in her apartment . Maria was a healthy young lady in her early thirties.

She was loved by staff and colleagues. We will miss her a lot.

Her husband; Mahmoud has started a new job with an NGO and was away when Maria died. The family are devastated with this loss. Our hearts are with Maria’s family and friends.

Addition: 

I am a colleague doctor in Ireland and I have spoken with Mahmoud (Maria’s Husband) and met him when he came to Ireland to clear Maria’s apartment and ship her belongings. He provided me with a copy of their marriage certificates and passports, in order to enable me to complete withdrawal of Funds off GoFundMe campaign.

Due to discrepancy in my first name between my ID, Bank, and fundraiser name; there is a delay in getting funds withdrawn. I have updated and matched my name in bank and ensured it matches my ID.

I am also busy with my family, job and life commitments, therefore I am trying my very best to update my info on time and withdraw funds.

Mahmoud told me he will pass all funds to Maria’s mum who is not well and require treatment for chronic illnesses, and that what Maria would have wanted to do if she was still with us.
