I Need Your Help to Stay Alive – My Kidney Transplant Story
My name is Dr. Olusola Kolebaje, a 36-year-old lecturer in the Department of Physics at Adeyemi University of Education, Ondo. For years, I have dedicated my life to teaching, mentoring, and supporting young people who aspire to build a future through science and education. Today, however, I find myself in a situation I never imagined — I am fighting for my life, and I need your help.
My Diagnosis
I have been diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure, and the reality has been devastating. For months now, I have been undergoing dialysis several times a week. Each session keeps me alive, but the cost — physically, emotionally, and financially — has been overwhelming. My doctors have made it clear that a kidney transplant is the only long-term solution that can save my life.
Why I Am Asking for Help
The cost of a transplant — including surgery, pre-surgery tests, dialysis, post-transplant medications, and long-term care — is far beyond what I can manage on my salary, and far beyond what my family can afford. I have always been a hardworking, self-reliant person, but today I am humbly reaching out and asking for support.
My Life and Passion
Teaching has always been my passion. I love helping students understand the wonders of physics, encouraging them to think critically, and supporting them to build meaningful futures. My greatest joy is seeing my students succeed.
I still have so much more to give — to my students, my family, my community, and the world. But I cannot continue without this life-saving treatment.
How Your Support Will Help
Your donation will go directly towards:
Kidney transplant surgery
Pre-transplant evaluations and medical tests
Dialysis while awaiting surgery
Post-transplant medications and hospital care
Long-term monitoring and recovery
Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to surviving this and returning to the life I love.
A Humble Request
This has been the most difficult period of my life, but I am holding onto hope — hope that with your kindness and generosity, I can overcome this illness and continue serving as a teacher, mentor, and brother.
Please donate, share, and keep me in your prayers.
Your support means more than words can express.
Thank you, and may God bless you.
