Dr. Jekyll's Trans Day of Visibility
Donation protected
This Wednesday (March 31st) is International Trans Day of Visibility.
My friend Ben and Anna decided to do a fundraiser in Dr. Jekyll's bar -- where they're matching every dollar spent there on 3/31.
But we know some of you won't go to bars - ever, or yet - who'd still want to chip in for this amazing fundraiser.
Ben writes: "As we understand, a large source of discrimination against trans people occurs when one’s name does not match the name on their credit card, driver’s license, etc.
Getting your name and gender legally changed has many legal and financial roadblocks that come with it, and it’s a difficult process for many to navigate.
We are starting a fund to help out a few people with this process. A personal friend of mine and a friend of the bar has offered his help as a lawyer to navigate through some of the more difficult steps...
This world can be a hard and cruel place. Don’t make it harder. Look out for your neighbors, your brothers and sisters, and your community. One love, y’all."
I'll add that any additional funds will go to the awesome Diverse & Resilient.
