Rodney Philbeck is a training specialist for Defensive Tactics and a Firearms Instructor.  He works at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission as a TAC officer for Corrections and as the Corrections Defensive Tactics Coordinator.

In November of last year, Rodney was returning from a hunting trip on a two lane hi-way in rural Washington state.  He slid on some freezing fog and slid off the hiway.  He was crushed by the roof of his pickup and suffered severe spinal cord injuries.  Since then, he had fought his way back by getting off the ventilator and regaining use of his arms.  He was told he will not regain the use of his legs, but everyone who knows Rodney knows that he can to things no one else can.
Rodney is currently in a rehabilitation hospital.

We are now taking the next steps and preparing for Rodney’s return home,
which involves purchasing a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.  These vans are incredibly expensive due to the retrofit for ramps, floor, seats, docking station, etc.  A 2020 Toyota Sienna ADA Compliant mini van costs over $70K. The Steering Wheel Drivability upgrade alone is another $10K.

Rodney has indicated to all of us that the written encouragement, GoFundMe, and all the love and support has filled his and his family’s hearts.  Also the hearts of his extended family, to include CJTC, hunting buddies, Northshore Highschool, JRA, and the countless police officers all over the state.  So, let’s keep it up and speed up his next transition.

Would you consider contributing and funding a large portion of the purchase of the vehicle?
Any amount will help get the safest, longest lasting vehicle and be deeply appreciated.

The Law Enforcement and First Responder community is incredibly strong.  Please consider posting this in Law Enforcement community forums  or emailing it to Law Enforcement colleagues to help get the word out and help a member of the community.

I want Rodney to come home in a capable, reliable and safe van.
This can be done with a our generosity and love. If you cannot donate, share the link and say a prayer. That is powerful too.
To be clear, this fund will only be for the purchase of Disabled Access van to bring Rodney home and improve his quality of life.

Rodney has ask to thank you all personally:

Thank-you

May God Bless You and Yours
