Down The Rabbit Hole with Daph ...
Daphne and I went to high school together decades ago. Our lives, are vastly different yet intertwined and strangely similar. Our teenage friendship has weathered the ravages of time and today, I ask for your help and support for my life long friend.
Daph is a single mum of three, her youngest live at home. One is 17 and in year 11, one is 18 and working part time while studying. The eldest and his wife live in the UK. Daph is a widow, she lost the love of her life to lung cancer in 2004 and has done a sterling job raising three kids alone.
In a cruel twist of fate, Daphne has recenetly received a crushing diagnosis while undergoing a routine physical and has begun a fight for her life. A rare form of aggressive mature T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoblastic lymphoma has robbed her of her good health, the chemotherapy is taking its toll. The Rabbit Hole is proving to be a dark place. This is where I need your help.
The burden of paying rent and bills has fallen on the kids, they are ill prepared for this and I want to pay the rent for as long as I can so Daph can focus on treatment and recovery and the kids can worry a little less.
I am auctioning off my long blond hair - we measured the plait today and it it just on 50cm long so I will cut it short in support of Daph who has lost her luscious long black locks. I will donate the plait to a wig maker so someone undergoing treatment can have some hair. Daph is rocking the pixie cut xoxo ... pics to come soon.
Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated. All money will go towards paying rent and keeping a roof over the heads of the kids while Daphne is in and out of hospital and treatment over the next 6 months.
Yes, Cancer Sucks, Lymphoma is a bitch, Hyper-CVAD Chemotherapy is the pits but Daphne is strong, she will fight this with everything she has and we will be there to support her - thank you for your kind contributions. xox
