My Dream Studio Project

Hello beautiful people.

It has been quite a year!  In just a few months time we have had to re-finance our home, receive news that my beloved husband had colon cancer and learn that I had to relocate my business; again.

My husband and I are so grateful that he has come through his experience with colon cancer and we are thrilled to say he is cancer FREE!  Also happy to report that our re-fi completed while my husband was in surgery.  All is well!  Just a little more work ahead.

We have learned so much, and continue to, as this new path presents itself to us; a path of recovery, partnership and wisdom.  

I have been blessed to be able to do what I love everyday for the past 31 years. Starting my company, Dove's Bodies, at the age of sixteen was the best thing that ever happened to me; I loved it then and I am still in love with everything about it! I also know that I am not done; I don't ever want to stop!  

When I got the news I had to relocate my studio by January 1, 2018, I started looking around for a new space to lease and reached out to fellow studio owners to see what was available to share space.  Then it hit me, I already have the location...our home; it was right in front of my eyes.

My husband and I purchased our beautiful house from our landlord five years ago and are now in the position to be able to build my dream studio in our backyard. This will be the space I can call my own and do what I love for the rest of my life and not be at the mercy of anyone, or anything ever again.

I have been on both sides of the spectrum now; I have been scared and I have been giddy with excitement. Part of me feels nervous and uncertain about how to move through this and part of me is filled with trust and peace that it will all come together somehow. I trust that I will be able to raise the funds necessary to build it in time to open in January so that I can continue offering a space for people to come and take care of their mind, body and soul.  I continue to visualize that I can manifest $100k to make this life-long dream my new reality.

I will be thrilled to continue offering my workout classes, yoga classes, meditation groups, private training sessions, and also create a retreat space for those who want to travel to LA and dive into a deeper wellness experience with workouts, yoga, meditation, nutritional support, vegetarian cooking, massage, facials, infrared sauna, and more!

I have been in this position before, where I have had my whole world flipped upside down with unfortunate news.  I always come out just fine, so I know I will be okay. The one thing I have learned from past experiences is not be alone in times like these; not to isolate myself.  I need to share it, be supported through this by all of you, be transparent, vulnerable and real, ask for help, be open and receive that help.
