Dougie dumped on the street
Donation protected
Dougie was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. He was dumped on the street by owners who obviously did not care about him. He had an injured leg and was very sad at the shelter. His assessment however showed that he was a good dog. He allowed all handling when tested and even leaned on the person testing him, trying to give and get all the love he could. He wanted to play with the tester and with another dog. He visited with a cat and when the cat swatted him, he backed away. So really he is a great dog who loves everyone. But he is hurting. Our rescue, Northern Exposure Siberian Husky Rescue, pulled him from the shelter and took him to the vet. X-rays showed a luxated patella fixed lateral and ligament contracted pulling the leg out. His "knee" is the size of a baseball. It seems this is an injury that was never taken care of. That's right, his previous owners just let him suffer like this and then just threw him away like he was nothing. We are here to show him that he matters and that people love him and to make him well again. We need your help for that last part. He will need surgery and without this fundraiser, we won't have the money to do that. Please consider helping him get well again. Any amount, no matter how small will add up. This dog is truly a gem and a love and he deserves a better life. Please help us to help him.
