Doug's Medical Fund

*update*
Doug is out of the Swedish Medical Center after nearly 8 weeks! Craig Hospital has accepted him into their rehabilitation program and we couldn’t be happier! Doug still have a lot of work to do to get back home to his family so please keep him in your prayers. We’ll also add his address at the hospital to those who wish to send cards or anything else to him. Thank you all for your prayer and donations!

Doug is a big bass fisherman, as are his three boys, Jake 21, Kyle 18 and Luke 15. Doug had a stroke on February, 13th 2018.   At age 51, Doug his three boys yet to raise and watch grow up. The stroke is believed to have been caused by a neck injury which damaged the vertebral artery causing blood clots.  This in turn caused a stroke.  Doug is currently at the Swedish Medical Center trying to get well enough to go to physical rehabilitation.  As of now, he is resting most of the day and allowing his brain to heal from the trauma.  Doug was released from ICU on 03-06-18 and is being closely monitored by doctors and therapists.  Getting Doug back to Nebraska and closer to friends and family is our next step.  Medical transportation is very expensive and not covered by his insurance.  In addition to medical expenses,  living expenses back home have begun to add up for Doug.  At this point we don’t know what the future will hold financially.   But, Doug has a lot to worry about just getting through rehab and gaining his independence back.  We hope, with your help, we can at least take some of the financial burden off his shoulders.  A little or a lot, every bit helps.  From Doug and his family, thank you.
