Doug Morrison's Medical Expenses

Doug was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He has metastises in his bones and liver.
About two months ago, out of the blue, Doug starting having pain in his hip and right leg. It became increasingly difficult for him to walk. His diagnosis came as quite a shock for all of us, since he's always been so active and robust. He was a cigarette smoker earlier in his life, but gave it up over 25 years ago. He is a Vietnam veteran, and was exposed to Agent Orange, a known carcinogen.
We are fortunate that Doug has excellent healthcare through the VA and Medicare. He's currently at his home on Phinney, by the zoo, but is unable to get out of bed without assistance.
Doug's daughter, Libby, is visiting from Austin. She is an RN, and it's been wonderful that she's been able to be so hands-on with his care. She would like to extend her stay in Seattle to a month. Unfortunately, she isn't eligible for family leave at her current job and will need to take unpaid leave. Her expenses in Austin are approximately $3500 a month.
This GoFundMe is to help pay Libby's rent and expenses in Austin so she can stay in Seattle and help with her dad's care. If there's anything extra, we will use it to help pay Doug's expenses that aren't covered by his insurance. The reminder will go toward Doug's medical expenses that weren't covered by his insurance.
Addendum: Doug passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017. Yael Yanich will be distributing the contributions to Doug's daughter, Libby, for her time spent with Doug, and using the remainder to pay Doug's medical and other expenses.
