A fire burned through an apartment complex in Coram last night where one of our clients/patients lived. She escaped in her pajamas which is now the only personal belonging left in her life. She has a cat who also escaped by running through the fire. He was brought to an emergency hospital where they took amazing care of him. He will now recover with us.
We would like to help Dorothy find a new place to call home where she and her cat can start their lives over. We are asking for anyone who is able to help to please do so through this fundraiser so that she can buy everything from clothes and shoes, to a new apartment.
Our deepest sympathy goes out the her neighbor who sadly didn't make it out of the building. Our hearts are with her family and friends.
