Dorm Supply Drive

You can make a difference for students by donating today to Ketáb, a non-profit that provides free college application assistance. Though we believe that education is a key to a brighter future, through our experience as teachers and tutors, we saw that students were not educated equally, which was having a negative impact on the opportunities they could access and subsequently their futures. Moreover, schools do not provide students with the adequate resources they need to thrive. Currently, public schools employee up to one college counselor for an entire school, which leaves students to fall through the cracks. As class size increases, one counselor is assigned to work with 500+ students. First generation college students, and students from underserved communities remain underserved.

We envision a society where all students have access to resources and educational opportunities regardless of race, class, color, gender, and religion. To make our vision our reality, we help students apply to college by providing free services and resources such as personal statement editing, one-on-one mentorship appointments, FAFSA assistance, and more. We provide intangible and tangible resources, because students use both on their path to success.

This fundraiser is for our second annual dorm supply drive. Getting into college is a huge step, but being prepared with the right resources can make all the difference. We have seen stellar students struggle to pursue their education because they have bills to pay, loans to pay off, and books to buy. We are fundraising to provide students with the essentials they need to thrive during their first year in college. This means that your donation will be used to provide students with pillows, backpacks, microwaves, Tupperware, and other essentials that students need when embarking on their first year of college.
