Dora Alvarez Medical Fund

As many of you know, our amazing mother, Dora Alvarez was diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladder cancer this summer. Since the diagnosis, she has had a few surgeries just to allow her body to accept treatment and food. Chemo had to be stopped due to infections which landed her in the ICU for a few weeks and now we are awaiting a critical appointment with MD Anderson in Houston, TX. 

We are asking for any monetary donations to help fund the wellness of Dora.
Those of you that know her, know she is a giver and has spent her entire life caring for all of us in ways that not only include support, homemade food and donations, but also great amounts of prayer. This includes friends, family, neighbors, St. Marks parish members and all the wonderful students, parents and educators she has met throughout her years of service in education.  We would love to finally be able to give back to her for being such a special person in all our lives.

Any and all monetary donations will be used to help her afford future medical service, pay for current medical bills and prescription medications and help with simple travel expenses to and from MD Anderson and additional hospitals/appointments. 

We know she has some amazing warriors out there rallying for her and our ultimate goal is to provide enough funds to where she is not making treatment decisions based on the cost. We are not done with our mother yet and we are trying to help her in this fight all that we can. Please join us! 

Also, a special thank you to everyone that has visited her during her various hospital stays, sent food, gifts, and cards for her and the family and called to wish her well. These acts of kindness all truly lift her spirits each time. She loves each of you and even refers to several of you as her angels.
