After almost eight incredible years, a flood, a fire, several venues and over 100,000 audience members, this lockdown has become the most difficult hurdle that we have ever face.
Its been tough for everyone and the art and entertainment industry has taken a huge hit. In March, we were horrified by the news that we would have to close shop for the foreseeable future. Initially we thought like most people that we would be open by May.
Even though our landlord and suppliers have done everything in their power to accommodate us, we find ourselves 7 months into lockdown with no income and growing debt. We have been lucky enough to receive a couple of government grants over the past six months, however they have not gone close to over the outgoings expenses to keep our theatre alive.
We have put together our first ever fundraising appeal, as we desperately hope we can raise the money to pay the rent until we reopen. This is such a difficult time for everyone, and we are just so grateful to everyone already for all the kind and encouraging words they’ve sent our way. So now we turn to you all in our lowest moment and ask if you will stand by us with a donation to help us raise the money we need to pay our rent, insurances, utility and other licensing bills that have been churning away ever since March and need to continue being paid for until we can reopen on the other side of lockdown. We truly hope we can count on your generosity right now, as it may spell the difference between us continuing or not.
