Donovan's Family Fund

Donovan’s and his family need help….

Donovan has been sick for some time, but because he did not have medical insurance, he waited too long for medical help. Two insurance companies dropped his coverage because he had high blood pressure.  At the time, he did not qualify for state medical insurance (AHCCCS). He kept putting off going to the doctor until his abdomen started swelling.  The swelling became so painful that he had no choice but to go to a hospital emergency room (ER).  He was diagnosed with severe cirrhosis of the liver and acute kidney failure. Due to fluids building up in Donovan’s abdomen the doctor’s order the fluid to be drained.  During the draining process, Donovan’s contracted a fungal infection in his abdomen.  The fungal infection is almost impossible to treat, and therefore Donovan’s is struggling to survive. Donovan has been in and out of the hospital for two months.  He was admitted to the hospital on August 7, 2017, and has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since August 11, 2017.

This devastating infection has kept Donovan from working.  He has not worked in four months, and his bills are piling up.  Even the utility company have threatened to shut off the power to his home.  Donovan and Cyndi were due to be married in February of 2018.  Cyndi does not earn enough money to keep their household going.  Cyndi and her sixteen-year-old daughter live with Donovan.  Cyndi is trying to keep the power on.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated by Donovan and Cyndi as they both struggle to make ends meet while Donovan continues his intensive treatment in the ICU.  Anticipating Donovan will not be able to work for six to eight months, our goal is to reach $20,000.  These funds will be used to help Donovan’s family keep up with the mortgage, utilities and other household expenses needed to keep his home running smoothly while he is out of work.  These funds almost help with the day to day worry Donovan has…to keep his bill payments current.
