Little Mountain Theatre Company is taking Donors to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year, coinciding with its 70th Anniversary! But we could really use some help.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest arts and theatre festival in the world, and we are very excited to be producing our first full length production at theSpace on the Mile this year.
Donors, written by Nicholas Contreras, focuses on the immense societal pressures placed on both men and women. Linda finds herself desperate to procreate while Roy struggles with fitting into his own misplaced model of masculinity. A chance encounter in a fertility clinic turns into the pair's last-ditch effort at fixing all that life has dealt them.
As a young theatre company, we are doing our best in order to pay our way to the festival. So far we've paid the Fringe registration fee, the down payment at our venue (theSpace on the Mile), and the deposit for our accomodation while we're in Edinburgh, but there is still a long way to go. Here is a breakdown of our expenses, as it stands:
Fringe Registration- £393.60 ($494)
Venue Hire (theSpaceUK)- £1800+VAT=£2160 ($2710)
Accommodation (for the month)- £1650 ($2070)
Performer's Insurance- £150 ($188)
These are the very basic costs, totaling £4353.60. ($5462)
There is also the cost of the following:
Flyers and Posters- £600
and Living Expenses- £1000
As you can see, this is a daunting adventure that we've embarked on, but every little donation that is made helps. Join our climb of the mountain ahead so that we can bring this important piece of new writing to the largest theatre festival in the world!
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival represents an incredible opportunity and we, as a company and as individuals, would be incredibly grateful for your help towards this journey.
Thank you so much,
The Little Mountaineers
