Donny & Melissa Dixon Family Fund

The story is the same but with some new twists, turns and possibilities. The need is still present from healing to provision.
Donny began suffering massive migraines in late July to early August. In Mid-August Donny was admitted to the hospital in Plano, Texas where although pain relief was present due to IV pain medication, answers wer few and far between. Frustration was real, confusion was real. Pain was real. But no answers. Upon being sent home around a week later, Donny and Melissa were able to enjoy a weekend away with family. He had a short window of time he actually felt some relief but unfortunately after getting home has still been facing the pain, confusion and frustration.
The one thing he hasn't lost is his sense of humor, his faith in God and his love for Melissa and their 8 children.
On Monday September 24th, 2018 Donny was finally able to get in to a neurosurgeon. With this appointment was confirmed much of what Melissa tried to get the doctors in the hospital to see and do. The appointment confirmed her thoughts. After being asked some questions, the doctor asked about the high protein level in Donny's spinal fluid and also asked if he had been tested for Vasculitis. This was more than any other doctor had shown concern for. Melissa suspected all along that it could be vascular. The doctor ordered some blood work and looked into the areas of inflamation. They were also referred to a cardiologist. At present they are not for sure that this is the absolute answer as to what seems to be the root cause but its pointing them in a direction. And more of a direction than they have had. The appointment with the cardiologist is this coming Friday September 28th, 2018. Unfortunately, not wanting to prescribe anything blindly without knowing what is wrong, Donny was not given any pain relief medication.
In the meantime as Donny goes through this Melissa also needs to make sure financial burdens are being tended too. She missed a lot of work during Donny's hospital stay and some days after. Unfortunately short-term leave through FMLA was not available. On Friday September 20th, 2018 though due to unforseen circumstances with her employment she was released from her duties. And while they are paying her through the end of 2018 and providing her COBRA insurance through that time as well, the financial burden is huge. Her income alone will not float them that long. Donny isn't able to work presently and thus they have quickly become a one income family. They are seeking out some answers on short term disability and entertaining what to do about child support payments for his 5 children. And in the meantime the medical bills are beginning to pour in and their deductible amount out of pocket begins again on October 1st, 2018.
The goal of this GOFUNDME is to help the Dixon's as best as possible to alleviate some of the burden. Yes, $25,000 is a lot of money. I know I personally don't have that much laying around to spare. However, if we as an army of people who love and care about Donny & Melissa and their children will rally around them not just in prayer but with monetary sacrifice we can make things happen. Whether it be $5.00 or $5000.00 any amount would make a huge difference in the Dixon's lives at this moment.
So three challenges to you as you consider:
1) Pray for Donny & Melissa and their 8 children. Pray for strength for Donny, healing for Donny and that peace and comfort would be strong. Pray for Melissa and her strength, mentally, physically and spiritually. And pray for the children for understanding and compassion for Mom & Dad.
2) Consider sharing this GOFUNDME with anyone and everyone you know and even asking them to share it as well.
3) Consider a monetary donation. Maybe it isn't much in your eyes, but anything is much to Donny & Melissa. Consider even making a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly donation for the duration of this campaign.
