Donnie’s Heart

My brother,  Don Draper, just had a very unexpected surgery on his heart. He had some chest pain, some numbness and tingling down his left arm, shortness of breath and nausea. He went to the ER where he was diagnosed with a myocardial infarction and ischemia. He went for an angiogram and possible stent placement when it was revealed to us that his heart was very ill and had blockage in at least 3 coronary arteries. This was something much more serious that could not be fixed by a couple of stents.  He was scheduled for surgery the next day. After a 5 hour surgery coronary artery bypass graft of 4 coronary arteries it was revealed that his heart vessels had significant blockage.

He is currently in the ICU; he is in severe pain and is not out of the woods yet, but he is alive. 

That being said,  he and his wife Pam are now facing mounting medical expenses that add more stress on the family and more importantly on him.  Just like most American families we are all just one devastating medical event away from being financially wiped out. 

My brother is a good person, he is kind to everyone and would give the shirt off his back if someone was in need. I would say he has a good heart but we now know that statement is not true! Well friends, now he is in need. So we started this page to help him recover with a little less stress on his mind and his heart. We all want him to get well so he can get back to all of us sooner and healthier than ever before.
