Donna Fly's Challenge

My friend Donna has recently (January 2018) been diagnosed with Stage IV Signet Cell Carcinoma. Up to now, she had been a healthy, happy, hardworking girl. Background: Donna sold most of her possessions to start fresh in a new place. She moved from California to Nashville a few years ago.  Currently:  Donna is renting in Nashville, She found a good job helping homeowners remain in their home. And she really felt she was making a difference for people.  Prior to her diagnosis, her car broke down to the point it is not drivable. The bus has been her main mode of transportation to get around town and to work. Since the diagnosis and having major surgery to remove some of the cancer, Donna has not been able to work and funds are very limited. She just started chemotherapy treatments. She will be going every two weeks to start.  There is no short term or long term care - Donna was healthy and, like most, was not expecting to be sidelined by cancer. It tears at my heart that she would have to go through this challenging journey with loved ones not nearby to help. With no family living here in Nashville, Donna is relying on some friends and co-workers to help the best they can.  She is a tough cookie and will be fighting tooth and nail to be a cancer survivor.
