Donna Cannon was informed by her Medical Dr. yesterday (12/16) that she has "2 weeks to live" Shocked and devastated, these are words none of us are prepared to here.
Donna was recently diagnosed with terminal stage IV Ovarian Cancer along with with Endometrial, Cervix, and Neuroendocrine Cancer that was removed with an emergency operation in Nov 2020 and was immediately prescribed chemo and radiation. The last month has been very complicated and painful due the surgery and therapy and lack of ability to hold down any food and constant vomiting. A new MIR on 12/16 showed the cancer was growing at a terminal, accelerated, pace. Continued chemo and radiation therapy will likely be less effective, according to the Dr. The devastating news comes with sadness and shock.
Donna (age 50 yrs old) resides in UT and her adult, daughter Krissa lives in MO with one grandson, boyfriend and is expecting a second child. Donna's only wish is to be with her daughter and grandchild in her remaining days.
Donna was born with hearing impaired and has been deaf her whole life. Her optimistic outlook has never slowed her down until now. There is never a good time for terminal illness but especially now with COVID restrictions. Due to those restrictions, continued hospitalization would not warrant her to see all of her family at the same time. After several days of deliberation with doctors and family members she is choosing home hospice over hospitalized chemo and radiation. Apparently her cancer is in the blood stream and the outlook is not favorable of further treatment. So Donna has chosen to be with family.
Go Fund Me would help reunite her small family and help with unexpected finances. Donna is single and like many of us... wasn't expecting to discover a life threatening cancer in the middle of life. Any financial assistance would help Donna and Krissa, by reunite them with airfare expenses, covering loss of work during visit, and any unexpected expenses with a passing.
