Dearest Family & Friends,
I come to you today with a heavy heart …
As I announce the Homegoing of my beloved Father-In-Law,
Wardell Wright Sr.
Whom I loving started calling “Pops” years ago and that name not only stuck with him but it suited him as well …
On December 4, 2017, Pops moved on to be with his Wife and love of his life ... Tecora “Baby Doll” Wright. Wardell was surrounded by several family members as he passed awayand the love for him was so thick in the room, No One could hold the tears from pouring down their cheeks.
As I fondly think back on Pops and the relationship we had, sometimes I have to Laugh Out Loud remembering when I would tell him I wasn't feeling too good. Not even two hours later to be met with smothered pork chops rich with gravy … And not just that but a bag of orange slices and a box of Twinkies to go with our meal as well. Pops never forgot the sweets and food that I liked … That was just the way that he was. He would do anything for any of us (his children) … down to giving us his very last dollar if we needed it. I also remember one time he went to Las Vegas and I told him to play some nickels slots for me … Do you know he hit and sent me $100? ...Smh … We had a good laugh about that when he returned home from his trip … I know some of you thought as I did ... that this stint in the hospital would end with him getting released and back to being Pops in a couple of days as usual … Maybe his release would also come with a trip to the casino if he had anything to do with it. Unfortunately, it was just his time … The blessing in all of this is that there is no more pain for him … No more hospital visits … The blessing is that he chose how he wanted to go and all of his children honored that decision … Right now all of this is just hard to grasp … just three or four days ago he was complementing me on my new hair style and how I looked … Just like pops to notice something about someone else when he was going through something of his own. He truly had a heart of Gold and that bad boy knew how to glitter and make everyone feel good!
All I do know is none of us know when it is our time … I also know that Pops lived a full and rich life … Full of love, family, and livelihood. I know we all will miss him so dearly and I know he is in heaven hugged up with Mama T looking down on us …
BUT, now is the time we have to give back to Pops for all the looking out he did for all of us here over the years. I was asked by the family to make this Go Fund Me Page so we can put our dearly loved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, or what have you to his final resting place … Right next to his beloved wife of 42 years.
We do not have much to raise since Clarissa Adell Wright-Andrews A.K.A ReeRee has taken care of most of what needs to be done … But we still have some work to do to make sure that Pops goes out in style. From his suit, to his casket we all, I am beyond absolute, want to make sure that everything is right for him. Please NOTE: All Funds raised will be spent on Wardell’s funeral! Our first detail to take care of is to get him from Murrieta, California to Indianapolis, Indiana.
I suggest everyone please take a moment to leave a fond memory in the comment section of a memory/moment or time that you had with Wardell… Maybe even a photo?

Right now it is more important than anything to stay connected as a family … I am beyond positive that is what Pops would have wanted and Mama T as well … I truly am sorry to each and everyone of you for this devastating loss … I know how I feel so I can only imagine how all of you feel … My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you at this time and please know I am here for each and everyone of you as you go through this … Sending you all my love, hugs, and kisses!
