Help Needed Urgently

Hi to all!

First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of my friends and family for your love and support during my time of need and particularly over the past 2.5 months since my initial post. All of your positive energy and kind words full of love have been an enormous motivation for me to turn my life around and give my all to a healthier and more joyful life.

I arrived at the hospital for my 1 week detox on April 10th and was then picked up to head straight here to Kate’s House to begin my road to recovery. I am PROUD to say that today I am 39 days sober and feeling amazing!!! 

Upon my arrival, I was met with a warm welcome and immediately began my integration into the group of around 25 patients, all with a substance abuse illness. As of now, have met with my professional team including an addiction specialist, psychologist, sophrologue, nurses, educational directors and my psychiatric physicians. Three weeks ago, I told my life story leading up to my addiction and breaking point…it was a tough experience full of emotions, but a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders to be able to verbalize what I have kept inside for so long. I have significantly reduced my medications, and my priority now is to stay sober and focus on my emotional health. Each day that goes by is another success, and I have already made progress according to my team based on my individualized rehabilitation plan. Each day brings new experiences and a healthier me! It’s not always easy, which is the point of the program, but I continue to push myself because this really is a chance of a lifetime…

Your monetary contributions have helped me so far to pay clinic fees, house Oscar kitty in a safe and caring place, rent a storage unit for my things, get a bus pass, and purchase items required for my stay here. I will meet with my social worker next week to fill out the application for government funding, but the process takes some time, especially considering I am not a French citizen. I continue to appreciate any financial help that you can provide during this journey to keep me afloat until I can work again. 

I want to thank you again for all of the messages and contributions that have put a huge smile on my face. The outpouring of love and support has absolutely blown my mind and fills me with encouragement and determination to complete my recovery here at Kate’s House and of course after I leave. This will be a lifelong journey, but I can conquer this!

Hello everyone,

Today I am reaching out for help to pay for a medical clinic here in France that specializes in anxiety, depression, addiction and readaptation into the norms of everyday life. This is a private clinic that was founded by a mother of an adolescent who was battling many mental and emotional difficulties, hence the name “Maison de Kate” or “Kate’s House”.

Many of you may have noticed in the past year and a half that I have been absent on social media and extremely unresponsive to messages on all platforms. Unfortunately, this is linked to my own battles with anxiety, depression and addiction. It has been so debilitating that it has kept me from working since December 2022, doing the job that I love as a speech therapist.

During the past year and a half, I have gone through an emotional divorce with my high school sweetheart, and I have suffered emotional, physical and psychological abuse by people I should have never trusted. This includes harassment, rape, beatings and demoralization. I am currently being treated by my general practitioner, a psychologist and an addiction specialist, and I am proud to say that I am 2 weeks and 1 day sober as of today All of these practitioners, based on the above experiences and how they have negatively impacted my life and health, have recommended that I be admitted to an intensive treatment program to help me find myself again.

This is an 8 week program that I will begin on April 9th. As it is a private clinic, there are fees that are not covered by the universal healthcare system in France. After my stay at Kate’s House, I will need to find a place to live, as I am currently homeless and constantly moving from one hotel/airbnb/friends’ home to another. Your contributions can help me to get back on my feet and get the care that I desperately need.

My goal in life has always been to help others, but I am aware that I cannot help others when I myself am unwell. I want to continue my passion, reconnect with my family and friends, truly recognize my own value, and live a happy and healthy life while continuing every day to work on myself even after the program is completed.

I am reaching out for financial help, as my savings have almost completely run out due to my inability to work and my need to contribute or pay for housing and nourishment.

At this point, anything can help. If you are unable to contribute to this cause financially, I ask you to please send me your positive energy or prayers for this important journey I am about to begin.
