Donation to manage cancer stage 4 treatment costs

Heresh Amini, a native of the Kurdish city of Sardasht in Iran, experienced a life-altering event at the tender age of three. His hometown was subjected to a devastating chemical weapons attack (mustard gas) during the Iraq-Iran war on June 28, 1987. This horrific event claimed the lives of at least 130 people, including his father, and exposed thousands to the deadly gas (the exact numbers of victims remain uncertain).

Two month after that incident, his brother was born and eventually they both grew up with their grandparents whom took care of them extraordinarily. Despite these early hardships, Heresh pursued a path of academic excellence. He earned his PhD in epidemiology from the University of Basel, Switzerland in 2017. His academic journey then led him to Harvard University, where he completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship. Following this, he served as an assistant professor at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark for approximately four years. Currently, he holds the position of associate professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, United States.

Recently, Heresh was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroendocrine carcinoma, a very rare type of cancer. His doctors in New York strongly suspected that his childhood exposure to mustard gas may be the cause of his current health crisis.

Heresh is now in need of financial support to manage his cancer treatment in the United States. Despite having medical insurance, many procedures are not fully covered. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
