Donate Some of Your $400 Refund - Fix the Reform

People have asked where to send their $400 refund from the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA). They do not want the money intended for the survivors of catastrophic crashes and want to see the law changed. The We Can't Wait Go Fund Me is an option for those who have asked. This fund will be used to advocate for a fix to the 2019 Auto No-Fault Reform which is decimating the care system for survivors, families and businesses as well as future crash victims.
We Can’t Wait, a Facebook advocacy group for auto crash survivors, accepts donations from those who would like to contribute a portion or all of their $400 auto insurance refund to aid this effort.
Seven people have already died; more are sure to follow because of the reforms made to Michigan's No-Fault Auto Insurance in PA21-22 in June 2019. Since implementation on July 2, 2021, more than 90 businesses providing 24/7 caregivers to the 6500 catastrophically injured with a spinal cord and/or traumatic brain injury are out of business or cannot provide services to the injured because of reimbursement rates slashed by almost half. Another 11,000 catastrophically injured survivors who require care and therapies are also affected. Survivors and families continue to lose or have lost all care.
The MCCA has $27 billion for the catastrophically injured, but the money is not being used to pay for their care. Now the Governor is giving away three billion dollars from this fund with the $400 refund to Michigan drivers. Tragic losses will continue, with thousands suffering because of lack of care and services resulting from the reform.
Funds will be used to promote legislation to fix the law and by educating:
—The public about the impact no-fault reform has had on auto crash survivors, families, and providers.
—All drivers about what this reform personally means to them and what they should do.
