Below is a message from my late grandmother Mary Franklin:

Hi, my name is Mary Franklin. I am the Founder of Women Survivors Of Homicide Movement (WSOHM). WSOHM was established in 2014, it is a non-profit organization that supports women and families impacted by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to the murder of an immediate family member. I am a recipient, my husband Melvin Bernard Franklin was murdered on October 15, 1996. His senseless crime is unsolved. In 2017 I was diagnosed with PTSD due to my husband's tragedy. As time moved on, I found that traditional medication did not work for me, what did work was holistic practices such as massage, manicure and pedicure, facial, reiki, sound and aromatherapy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and other coddling methods. Because these methods worked so well for me, I was encouraged to create the Trauma Spa (T-SPA)-8 week Pilot Project.

Who Will Benefit from the Trauma Spa Pilot Project?
Families who reside in inner-city neighborhoods that have experienced PTSD due to the murder of an immediate family member will receive services. We are also including first responders who are impacted by the daily aftermath of gun violence.

What is Trauma Spa?
T-SPA Pilot Project is a non-traditional mental health resource for families and first responders impacted by gun violence. This pilot is specifically targeting these two populations due to the heavy trafficking of inner-city gun violence. Our goal is to decreases gun violence and symptoms of PTSD by offering holistic and coddling modalities. To prove T-SPA works, we will provide data towards the end of the pilot showing a decrease in PTSD and gun violence.

Where Will Trauma Spa be Located?
T-SPA will be located in a community of color in the City of Boston, where gun violence is high. This would be convenient because guests could walk, take public transportation, or drive to the location.

Why Donate to Trauma Spa?
We had a location that we began renovating however, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we lost that location. Your donation would allow us to obtain a new site. We also need funding to pay for equipment, utilities, and salaries for staff (T-SPA will depend largely on volunteers).
