Fundraiser to support Lili through breast cancer

Loving friends, family, and extended community of Lilith Yacub,

Many of you now know Lili was recently diagnosed with stage 3 hormone-positive invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer, which has spread from both breasts into her lymph. The treatment plan for recovery is hopeful but aggressive and super intensive—starting immediately with dose-dense AC/T chemotherapy every two weeks for the next four months, followed by mastectomy surgery, then likely radiation.

The chemotherapy treatment, nicknamed “red devil,” will likely be incapacitating, limiting her ability to care for her spirited young daughter, Nico and support her business partner to run their small bakery. The full timeline of her treatment remains unsure, but her healthcare team has advised it’s likely she will be out of action for up to 12 months which, as you can imagine, is a frightening prospect.

As her close friend, I loathe to see her struggle through this and I know as friends, loved ones, and extended community members, we find ourselves wanting to help in any way we can, but physical gestures aren’t always possible. This GoFundMe is a very direct way to help Lili get through this intensive journey with ease and grace.

Your financial support will help to give her peace of mind knowing her family’s basic living expenses are covered while Nico’s dad Jon is on leave from work overseas to care for their daughter. It will also help to cover expensive supplementary supportive treatments such as working with a cancer-focused naturopath, counselling, acupuncture, and any other necessary bodywork that could alleviate her symptoms and help support her health for a full recovery.

Lili is handling this with much humour, positivity and open-heartedness. She is being so brave for Nico, trying to find the silver linings in this terrifying journey, but it’s going to be really tough.
