On Wednesday, June 2, our "Gato" went into the hospital for what was suppose to be a routine procedure for another infection. The doctor's found some medical complication's and this trip to this hospital became anything but routine. His condition worsened and our "Gato" passed away at 12:02 am on Friday, June 4, 2021. We always expected him to bounce right back after visiting the hospital and return to two of the things he loved most. The first thing, he loved most was spending time with his familia, especially being a husband to Debra and a dad to his children. He has this large extended family that he loves and then his homies in the neighborhood that he grew up with in Sereno. He also loved being an Alcohol/Drug Counselor at Mindful Recovery/North Hollywood. He was studying to take his state exam to get certified. He loved helping other addicts and alcoholics recover. That was "Gato". His colleagues, friends, and clients are heartbroken. He left a hole in some of our hearts that will not be able to be filled. We won't hear that laugh in the hallways anymore.. He will be missed. May The Angels wrap their wings around Debra and his family and comfort them in their time of need. We love you Robert "Gato" Murillo. You were one of a kind. You will be in our hearts forever. Funeral arrangements have been made and he has been made and he was laid to rest at Rose Hills, Whittier. Debra was given a check for $7,200 to cover funeral expenses. Thank-you to all who contributed. Go Fund Me took about $180 in fees. That is final amount is still being determined. Professor Salazar
