Donate to help Kristi Wright's Medical Bills

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Katy, and Kristi Wright is my sister. She was diagnosed with Cancer in 2010. It's been 12 years of regular treatments and medical bills since then. I wanted to start a Gofundme because I feel helpless, and this is something I CAN do, but also after so many have recently asked me where they could donate. I know Kristi and Billy would appreciate any help you may feel led to share with them. Her current medical bills total over $16,000. The money that is raised through this fundraiser will go towards these bills. She will start new treatments soon and incur more medical bills, so thank you for considering helping relieve this financial burden.

Kristi has been married to her husband, Billy, for 25 years and together, they have Chris, Isaiah, and Alyssa. Chris is married to Brittany, and they gave them their first grandbaby! A sweet little girl!

I know that many of you know her story, but if you would like to follow along with her current journey or read more about it, you can follow her Team Kristi FB page or her blog.

Here is a brief summary of her journey so far and what she is currently facing.

Kristina was diagnosed with a very rare gynecological cancer in November 2010; and twelve years later she is still battling. Kristi was only 34 years old at diagnosis. She fought it with chemotherapy, radiation and interstitial brachy therapy. Just a year later it was back. With treatment it persisted and required a radical life and body altering surgery in January of 2013 at MD Anderson. This surgery had a year long recovery and has several lifetime side effects. She was free of treatments until 2015 when the cancer metastasized into both lungs. Kristi came back home to Northwest Arkansas to have 21 weeks treatment of Chemotherapy (Taxol and Avastin) in which she lost her hair. In 2015 she also found out that she has a KRAS gene mutation, which adds to the incurability and persistence of her cancer. Clinical trials are a must for Kristi but they are very hard to get into due to the rarity of her primary cancer, being stage 4 and metastatic, along with this KRAS gene mutation. She was matched to a KRAS trial during the summer of 2016 but had to stop the medication because of a terrible skin toxicity side effect. In June of 2018, she started an Immunotherapy Clinical Trial. She continued to do that for a year and a half but not without complications that once again required her to stop. In the Fall of 2019 and 2020 cancer metastasized to Kristi’s neck, head and sacrum. It also grew in her lungs. Kristi underwent 4 separate radiation treatment plans and did chemo, losing her hair a second time. In 2021 cancer was located in Kristi’s left adrenal gland and radiation did not work this time. In May 2022 Kristi had her left adrenal gland, spleen, and pancreas tail removed. She also had a portion of her stomach, colon, left kidney and back removed. Currently Kristi is living with cancer in her right adrenal gland and her left abdomen. She’s in pain and cannot take aspirin or ib profin because it caused internal bleeding when paired with steroids daily for adrenal insufficiency. Doctors are researching one trial option, possibly more chemo and radiation. Kristi and her family are holding on to hope knowing God can still choose to heal her if he wants to. He can certainly continue to sustain her life by just doing the next thing until a better treatment comes along.

If you are unable to donate, please share this GoFundMe page and pray for her and her family please! Helping to spread the word and sharing the page is also very helpful! Thank you!
