Filip Durkovic, 32, of Cetinje, Montenegro, was given a 5% chance of survival after an unprecedented shooting in his hometown. On August 12, 2022, a gunman rampaged through a neighborhood, killing ten people and wounding six. Filip was working in the backyard of his customer's house when he was shot in the head - an innocent victim of random violence.

Filip suffered head trauma, causing a traumatic brain injury, loss of an ear and parts of his skull. He has neck and shoulder injuries and multiple gun pellets throughout his body. Filip underwent multiple 20+ hour surgeries. It is truly a miracle that Filip not only survived but also is showing promising signs of recovery.

Filip is still in the hospital and doctors are doing their best to not only save his life but also help him recover so he can have a better quality of life.

Filip has significant cognitive, motor, sensory and speech impairments as a result of his injuries. He has a long road to recovery, and doctors are not sure if he will ever regain full functionality. He is receiving constant care and will need additional surgeries and extensive medical care for the foreseeable future.

Filip is a loving son, brother, uncle, and a great friend to many. Everyone who knows him will attest that he is one of the most selfless, positive, and caring individuals they have met. He is always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Filip’s strength and dedication to recovery are awe-inspiring. His cheerful nature remains the same, and he is full of life. Filip's mother, Marina, has taken a leave of absence from work and drives from Cetinje to Podgorica daily to spend most of the day in the hospital to help care for him. While Filip’s family is doing all they can to help support him in the recovery process, money raised by this platform will directly go to help pay for Filip's medical expenses and any necessities to help improve his quality of life. We continue to pray and hope for a full recovery.

Porodica Filipa Đurkovića (32), koji je teško ranjen u tragediji na Cetinju 12. avgusta, pokrenula je akciju prikupljanja pomoći za njegovo liječenje.

Filip je zadobio povrede mozga, gubitak uha i djelova lobanje. Ima povrede vrata i ramena i više gelera u tijelu. Podvrgnut je višestrukim komplikovanim operativnim zahvatima. Filip pokazuje obećavajuće znake oporavka. Još je u bolnici i ima značajna kognitivna, motorička, senzorna i govorna oštećenja.

Ljekari, koji daju sve od sebe da poboljšaju njegovo stanje, nisu sigurni da li će ikada povratiti punu funkcionalnost. Pred Filipom je dug put do oporavka i biće mu potrebne dodatne operacije i opsežna medicinska njega.
