Donate to help cover funeral costs to honor Jaye

A memorial service for Jaye will be held on Monday, January 23rd at Church of St. Peter Claver (369 Oxford Street North Saint Paul, MN 55104). Viewing will be 9am to 11am. Formal service will begin at 11am.

My name is Olivia and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of mom Tammy, brother Jordan, and the entire Sinkfield family in order to help with the funeral and memorial costs to honor the life of Jaye Sinkfield who was so suddenly taken from us this past weekend. Funds will be going directly to the family and will hopefully not only cover the costs of the funeral, but also allow Tammy and other family members to take much needed time off from work to grieve without the burden of financial stress.

Many people knew Jaye, and if you knew Jaye you knew their enormous heart. You knew their infectious laugh, smile, and joy. If you were lucky enough to be considered family or a friend of Jaye you understand what a great loss this is to the world.

Jaye, also known by their stage name DIVAJ, had incredible musical talent and went on to release multiple albums and singles where they showed not only their ability to rap, but also write incredibly deep and meaningful lyrics. It was always important to Jaye to lift up the voices of black femme queer artists and people. They were an incredible advocate and supporter of their communities. In 2022 they were honored with a McKnight Musician Fellowship Grant and they took that honor very seriously to continue changing the world through their music.

In 2022 Jaye also graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic, Cultural minority, Gender, and Group Studies. In addition to their music career, they also worked several different positions at Apple starting in 2017.

Jaye was a fiercely loyal friend to many, sibling, child, and grandchild. Their sudden passing has left so many people heartbroken. Their love and joy was more powerful than anyone else in this world. Please consider donating to help Tammy, Jordan, and the family have the time to grieve the loss of Jaye without worrying about any financial stress. Please share this far and wide, even if you yourself cannot donate, someone else may be able to.
