On April 15, our sweet daughter Athena woke up struggling to breathe, with a high fever nearing 102°F. We took her to urgent care, and she was rushed in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. That night, doctors quickly began running tests and placing IVs. Athena was diagnosed with streptococcus pneumonia. Her oxygen levels were dangerously low, and her left lung had collapsed.

She spent 10 days in the ICU, fighting to breathe. During her stay, she required a feeding tube, underwent two bronchoscopies, two CT scans, and multiple X-rays. It was one of the most terrifying times of our lives—but through faith, constant prayer, and the incredible care of her medical team, Athena’s lungs were finally cleared up enough, and she was able to come home.

We are beyond grateful to have our daughter back in our arms. Her strength and spirit have amazed us every day. Now, as a family, we are reaching out for support to help ease the heavy financial burden. Her medical expenses have exceeded $40,000, and any amount would mean the world to us.
