In 2022, I was diagnosed with two different types of breast cancer. Since then, I've undergone a double mastectomy, two subsequent surgeries, radiation on both sides, six months of chemotherapy pills, a year of immunotherapy, and am now in the second year of a ten-year hormone therapy regimen (which also prematurely induced menopause).

Most recently, I ended up in the emergency room due to an excruciating, days-long headache. Despite a clear PET scan last October, I was informed that I had three tumors on the right side of my brain. I did everything right, and yet here we are again.

I had my fourth surgery on May 31st. The surgeon said they removed everything, and I have now completed another round of radiation (three total). They are recommending chemotherapy to give me the best chance. I've been told my specific cancer is treatable but not curable, meaning I may need treatments for the rest of my life.

As a result of the surgery on my visual cortex, I've been experiencing vision problems, including complete loss of peripheral vision in my left eye and a general decline in overall vision. Doctors say my vision is about 20/40 now, and it might take a year or more to improve, if at it does at all. This, along with countless doctor appointments and treatments, has prevented me from returning to work for the foreseeable future. So, some of my amazing friends have offered to set up a GoFundMe to help with living expenses.
