We are raising funds in the memory of Imani Bass [Yoko] who was hit by a hit-and-run driver and was killed in New Orleans on Franklin and Filmore on Tuesday, September 19th. Imani was a Tattoo Artist, a DJ, a Designer, a Model, and a Mixed Media Artist. She was a leader and driving force in the community. She loved New Orleans with all her heart. From the LGBTQ and Arts communities to the Fashion and CosPlay community Imani built relationships everywhere she went. From Japan to Mexico Imani had friends that loved and respected her passions and immense talents. Imani’s energy rocked the house and affected the lives of so many in a positive way. She is survived by her Mother, Father, Sister, her extended family, and the many families that she was a part of in the community. We all loved her and now is the time to celebrate her life in a way that honors her Spirit. YOKO’S power did not die on September 19th. Since then it has grown exponentially. We will continue to focus that energy on keeping YOKO’s vision alive to heal as a family and as a community. Our next step is to develop a foundation to honor YOKO. The focus moving forward will be on preserving their legacy. It will also support the interests and communities that were close to their heart. At this time, donations are not tax-deductible.

Losing Imani at the age of 30 is an unspeakable tragedy but we have to come together for her. For her life and memory.
