Donate in memory of Eduardo Elinan

Hi, my name is Oscar and I am fundraising on behalf of my father, Eduardo, or as many have known him as "Ed". My father ended a long battle with Parkinson's and died surrounded by his loved ones (wife, children, and grandchildren) on Monday, March 18th, 2024 in West Springfield, Virginia.

My father was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. He grew up in a big family and during his school years, he had to persevere and do well in school. Soccer was a passion of his. Soccer allowed him to be able to keep attending school. My father has always been an advocate of hard work and persistence. He overcame many adversities while young and was awarded a scholarship to come to the United States to pursue a college degree. He told me one of his proudest moments was when he obtained his American citizenship and began his civil service career as a federal employee for over 30 years.

My father has always been a fighter from his younger age living in Colombia. He worked hard to keep attending school which allowed him to move to new cities at a young age on his own to pursue a career; then attending college and being the first in his family to do so. He was determined to run the Army 10 miler, which he completed while giving his free time to coach youth soccer teams. My father was a loving, caring, and giving soul.

The unexpected passing of my father hit my mother and siblings hard with many unexpected financial costs that we were not prepared for. Parkinson's is an evolving disease that has required a multitude of therapies, medical equipment, and treatments to provide a comfortable living. All that has left our family financially exhausted. With the unexpected funeral arrangements on top of everything, our family asks for any donations to contribute towards Ed to ensure his last remaining wishes can be respected. We thank you for taking the time to honor our sweet memories of our beloved Ed.
