February 9th Update
We just had a very positive meeting with Dr. Han! She's very compassionate and caring and feels Arialle’s treatment is moving along nicely!
She was very happy we have a second opinion scheduled with MD Anderson (late March) and she is also giving us a referral to a sarcoma specialist at Emory as well! So we will continue to see her but work with the sarcoma specialists too.
Now we are just waiting for chemo to start in a few minutes
February 7th Update
We are back in ATL tomorrow for round two of chemo on Thursday! We also get to meet with Arialle’s oncologist again which we are looking forward to because we have not spoken to her in person in a while.
Also, someone kindly sent us a book (An Immense World) - if it was you, please let me know!
January 27th Update
Arialle still feeling good post chemo!
We get to be home for over a week we are so glad to have sone down time
January 26th Update
Arialle is finishing up second cycle of chemo now - they added her second chemo med today. No negative reactions while getting it! But she may start to see more side effects now that she has had two cycles and they have added that end.
If anyone is curious, her chemo meds are gemzar (gemcitabine) and taxotere (docetaxel).
January 25th Update
Port is in - procedure went well! We are taking it easy the rest of the day before chemo early tomorrow
January 24th Update
We are heading back to Atl later today. Arialle will have a chest port interested tomorrow then chemo on Thursday. After that, we get to be home for over a week!!
January 20th Update
Arialle’s first chemo infusion is officially in the books! Everything went really well yesterday and so far she’s feeling fine.
She has another lung biopsy today so they can send some tissue for genetic testing. Keep her in your thoughts today please it’s a minor surgery and should go very smoothly.
Tomorrow we are back to Starkville for a few days then back to Atl for her to get a port and chemo #2
January 17th Update
Arialle is starting chemo on Thursday around 12:30 - send healing prayers, thoughts, vibes, wishes (or whatever else you got) our way
January 7th Update
Arialle’s oncologist called us - we slightly misinterpreted biopsy results (not surprising since we are not med doctors lol).
She said the biopsy indicates it is one of two types of cancer - either sarcoma (as she suspected) or pecoma. Pecoma seems to be similar type of cancer but starts specifically in vascular system. They are going to do more stains on the tissue sample. If they can tell what type of cancer it is from that, she will start treatment Friday or Monday. If not she will need another biopsy so they can get more tissue to test.
Btw feel free to text Arialle and tell her you are thinking of her, just chat, say hi, etc.
I am getting a lot of messages from people (which is great) but she’d love to hear from people too
