Since, 1999 Devin has been battling SLE Lupus - Devin's body went into kidney failure in 2011.
Luckily, we were able to find a match with a family friend and Devin was able to receive a kidney transplant in November 2013.
Unfortunately, the kidney stopped functioning - became septic - and Devin had to have a dangerous Nephrectomy surgery performed, which is the removal of all or part of the previous transplanted kidney.
With hemo-dialysis, doctor appointments, labs, and fatigue - Devin is currently not able to work.
Our family is doing what we can, but still need financial assistance and have set up this page - as well as other social platforms - in order to raise money for a new kidney and the many costs associated with obtaining, transplanting, and surviving with that new kidney.
Devin's kidneys only function at 1% and he survives on hemo-dialysis. Thankfully, he has been placed on the National Donor List and we are praying that he will be matched soon.
We love Devin and we know you would too!!!
Through all of his hardships and trials - he has been a source of strength and positivity to everyone around him. He has even received a gold medal for being the happiest/best patient in the ward after one of his many surgeries.
Many people have asked how Devin does it. How does he remain so positive through his pain? We all know that music plays a big part in his recovery. Devin loves music and concerts, it helps fuel his desire to love life and those around him.
Please help us save our son/brother/uncle! We would be forever grateful!
