Dalton (a.k.a. D-Ray) is a very smart, outgoing, energetic, athletic, fun loving 13 year old boy. As most teenagers, Dalton enjoys hanging with friends, spending time with family, and has a deep passion for basketball. Dalton was recently diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, which is a very rare form of cancer that starts in the bones or nearby soft tissues that share common features. This cancer is treatable and looks to have been caught in the very early stages. Dalton is currently being treated under the great care of Children's Mercy Hospital and will begin his treatment of chemotherapy very soon. His mother, Melissa, will be taking FMLA (family medical leave) in order to be by his side and care for him as he battles this disease. Which leaves them down to one income from his father, Steve, who is planning to work as much as possible to help with the financial burden. My hope in putting this together is to help this family pay medical bills and any other expenses they deem fit. Dalton and his family will already be facing some serious physical and emotion distress through all this, so any relief that can be given to help with the financial burden is greatly appreciated.
