Donald A. True Memorial Fund

I remember my uncle Donald as a kind, gentle, and peaceful man. He took great interest in spiritual life and had a supportive community of people who cared and loved him. He love his daughter, Elissa, and was always supportive of her aspirations. He and his adoring wife, Lola have lived in Occidental for over 40 year and has touched many lives in the west Sonoma County area. Donald was well known as a waiter at the Union Hotel for many years. In the last year of his life, Donald was diagnosed with lung cancer, but was given a positive outcome. While the treatments were difficult, he was responding well and the prognosis was good. In a tragic turn of events, Donald came down with pneumonia and was in and out of the hospital for several weeks but was ultimately unable to recover. Donald was brought home with hospice care before Thanksgiving and peacefully passed away with many adoring and caring visitors and loving family members.
As with many heartbreaking medical situations, the costs of treatments and hospital stays are financially debilitating. The money raised from this campaign will help alleviate the crippling costs that is now the responsibility of his family.
