Don McGee

Donation protected
On Saturday, December 5, 2020, Don McGee fell down the basement steps at his house.  His wife, Norma, found him a short time later and called the ambulance.  He was taken to Western Wisconsin Health, then transferred to Regions in St. Paul a short time later.  He had multiple skull fractures and bleeding in his brain.  After a week in ICU, he was moved to the trauma care unit.  He has been suggested for inpatient acute rehab.  The decision was made to have him stay at Regions for that. That transition may take place as early as this week.  We are delighted with his progress but know that the road ahead will be long. As with any Traumatic Brain Injury, the future is unknown.  He is still very confused.  We are praying that he is able to make a full recovery.

Don is well known and loved by many in the community. He and his wife, Norma, are proud, hard working and are known for giving back to the community they love. We feel it is now time to return that giving to them in their time of need.

Don’s full time job was his business.  At this time we do not know if, or when, he will be able to return to his beloved McGee’s Fix-It Shop.  His part-time job was driving a school bus for the Baldwin-Woodville school District.  He waved to all the students each day as they walked out to the buses.  They miss him dearly.  This loss of income is an additional stressor for Don and his family.   We would like to reduce that stress so that the family can put their focus on Don and his recovery.

If you would like to assist with this financial burden, any donations would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to Don’s medical costs and related recovery treatment.  The outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time has been so appreciated.
