Dominique Rosales, our unofficially adopted daughter, has been struck with cancer at the young age of 34. A brilliant artist, a wild flower in the prime of her life, is struggling with an inoperable lung tumor and needs medicine which isn't covered by her insurance.
She lived with us for five years in Brooklyn while she was dancing with the Ailey company and became a sister to Coco, our other daughter.
Dominique would barely touch a drink and never even smoked, it's so hard for us to see her struggling for breath now. She was the complete opposite of a lung cancer patient, young, healthy, a dynamo of energy; her doctors didn't even consider it possible, so she suffered many months of back pain and two miscarriages before getting a proper diagnosis.
Her family in Berlin is doing everything they can to keep her going, but they need help. Dominique recently married a fantastic man, Ari, who is juggling work and the demands of being her primary care giver. He cooks nutritious vegan food for her every day, tends to her needs and is a tower of strength, but they are basically broke, they're behind on their bills and scrambling to cover rent. Dominique ran a successful production company and had been touring with Peaches all over Europe just before this all happened. Last week she had to go back into the hospital for further treatment.

Each course of medicine, sent over from California, costs $4750, it lasts up to three months; our plan is to cover these additional medical costs so that we can secure her treatment for at least the next six months.
