Dominican Republic Trip #2: Roof

I first visited the Dominican Republic in January 2016, thanks to the generous support of friends, family, and even a few strangers who helped me raise the money to go. I worked with a team doing construction projects, and also had the opportunity to worship and preach through an interpreter while there.

I met some wonderful people there and began relationships that we have tried to maintain and nurture across the distance since. 

In January 2018 I am planning to return to the Dominican Republic to join in a second building project. This time a small team will be working to build a roof over an outdoor kitchen used to support the Colegio Moriah compound. A marvelous staff of people labor in this open-air kitchen to prepare and serve delicious meals to the resident staff and to the visiting teams that come from time to time. I will be assisting the crew that will build a roof to provide shelter for this kitchen. Any money that is received in excess of my cost will be added to the money available to purchase materials needed for the project.
